What is it?: A border for a baby photo
Size: 5"x7" (holds about a 4.25x2.5 picture)
Colors:
- Greens (lightest to darkest)
- 861 (turtle shell and outline of turtle)
- 965 (lines on shell and inner border)
- 3051 (the olive color of the vines)
- Purple 580
- Red 128
- Orange 713
- Yellow Orange 491
- Black for the eye of the turtle and the back stitching around the turtle body
Why does it look weird in the frame? The frame I bought was thin and I wasn't able to properly fasten it around the cardboard in the back. I was forced to cut it to size and glue it to the glass. Not ideal, but it still looks good and is much easier to get the photo in an out.
The inner window is cutout with 3 squares leeway, two squares are used in the border, which is a simple hoop stitch.
Here's a better photo of the design itself. A picture of the pattern, which is hand drawn on grid paper, is available upon request.
Please feel free to make this for yourself or for a gift, but do not reproduce for profit.
